Has it always been the hotel that people have first arrived in?

We are all guilty of something. But, we do not all deserve any Hell.

Until we came to this island.

That at least tells us where the portal is, though with many different worlds our initial passage may arrive elsewhere before we're then exiting there.

Though if everyone so far has arrived in the hotel why has it now changed? Or are we not to be on this island for long?

It's changed because there is not much of a hotel left, nor supplies to nourish any new arrivals. If we're all here, it wouldn't prove fruitful to bring people anywhere else.

I don't know how long we'll be here.

The fact that they are trying to provide for our survival means that there's more of a goal to our presence here than solely torture.

I assume that what you could do as an angel you can still do here?

Though I'm afraid I don't know the truth of what an angel can do.

Are you able to locate or detect magic? Portals, hot spots, for example?

That's never been under my purview. It's possible there are spells that could help.

Magicians are able to do that. But with a large area it would be useful if more were able to.

And witches. There are magic users here.

I assume that their method of casting is different to my own, being from a different world. But it would be interesting to see if we can still collaboratively cast.

I assume, but I'm not overly familiar with any differences, and I don't know any witches.

You're the first angel I've met. I don't know what that means outside of mythology.

You know one of them. Pray to me and I will be there. I can fly and my hands are healing.

How deep of a prayer does it need to be?

Saying or even thinking my name will do.

And is that healing of any injury?

Barring something life threatening and terminal. I can't cure cancer. I can cure injuries, internal or otherwise.

Your abilities are ones I've known in other people, other disciplines in magic if a little different.

I can apply basic healing spells but it's not my speciality.

How far do they get you?

Just minor injuries. There are magicians with a healing discipline that can do more.

Disciplines are a magical procifiency, every magician has one.
