✨once a devout, soldier of god, being in the presence of the Winchesters and other influences has made him more human over time. he thinks for himself more than he did and while he does not worship God, he still believes in him, especially after meeting him in person. as an angel he stood by God's word. he towed the line and stood up for what he believed in. he was ruthless, straightforward, and believed in the greater good. he made the hard decisions and led the cause. he made battle strategies and led sieges. he also wielded power. he resurrected Dean Winchester, he moved him through and altered time and reality. Castiel is also protective of other angels, too, and feels a kinship to them.
✨he is strong in his convictions but is easily led astray, often resulting in mistakes being made, be they naive team-ups or impulsive decisions. he teams up with Crowley when he believes he has to, teams up multiple times with multiple angels, even when they mean to manipulate him. he is often quick to trust new allies, even temporarily, if he believes they share the same goal in mind.
✨as an angel he was once competitive, one of Gods' best soldiers. he rose up the ranks. it is revealed that when he does come onto the canvas, he was the head of the battalion. he is the one that stepped out of line.
✨when he has a purpose in mind, not much can sway him, even the words of someone he trusts. he will lie without blinking if he believes his cause is just
✨that said, when it falls through or when he is left to his own devices, he does tend to live in his own guilt. often isolating himself because of that. though, he can rise above it for the greater good.
✨with a better hold of what humanity means, he is a better judge of human behavior. he can be persuasive and give a speech when he wants to. but that persuasion doesn't always get him somewhere.
✨while once he was more stoic and emotionless, Cas now openly feels human emotions, including anger, guilt, compassion, and curiosity. he's also been opened to sexual and romantic attraction
✨thanks to metatron, he also has consumed all entertainment, movies, tv, and books (stories) in order for metatron to try and sway Cas to his side. that said, he doesn't quip or make those references, but he will hang a lampshade on them if someone else does. often, dean.
✨the winchesters are family to Castiel. they are blood. disappointing them hurts the most. he will wait out the end of humanity with them. (he does when they think the Darkness will win)
✨he will also fight to the death to save Earth
✨he still has hard lines and opinions, killing when it is unnecessary is unpleasant, though he is capable of it. he has laxed on killing angels if they are a threat or they lash out. (or they betray him/others)
✨sometimes, he's just dim. he's not dumb. he's simply slow on the uptake, especially when it comes to jokes, outright, and of the inside variety. he is aware of pop culture and he understands its' benefits and usage, he understands music fundamentally. but he doesn't appreciate it past how people he likes appreciate it. ie. he likes Zeppelin because dean gave him a mixed tape of Zeppelin's greatest.
✨he's a being of simple pleasures. often, kicking back with the Winchesters is "fun" to him. he doesn't develop a sense of fashion past, this is how Jimmy Novak used to dress, but he will change his outfit if it's required in a case
✨he will fight to his last breath and he will make the hardest moves, even if there are cosmic consequences. if it's a Winchester's life or his own, he will give up his own life if that is an option. if it saves them.
✨he is forgiving, loving, and gentle when it comes down to it, capable of giving comfort and listening. Castiel. what people sometimes miss is that, still, at heart, he is a soldier. it is solid. steadfast. stubborn. and tough as nails. but loyal to those he loves.cares

I have a few questions.
I need to know, at what point does this mythology split off from the Judeo-Christian origins I'm familiar with. The names are the same, but the faces aren't.
The demons here, are they in vessels or is this how they appear topside? Is there a topside? I was told there's no way out of here which, again, would contradict the hell I know. For those of you more in tune with magic, are there any wards you can sense?
If you're willing to share, I want to know how many of you are dead.
The more information we can gather, the more answers we can find. Collectively.

( With Heaven only accessed by playground sandbox and Hell by door or death, Castiel hasn't experienced Hell. The several times he's died, he's ended up in places other than hell. Purgatory wasn't hell. Nor wherever he ended up before the Leviathans. And still, he knows this place isn't Hell. It calls itself Hell. It masquerades as Hell. It does its idea of its' best.
Castiel is not impressed.
It brings his nice, Catholic guilt with it - a list of sins that burn themselves on his psyche without needing to see them in person. Thanks, Not-Hell, for putting his failings out there. In blood. It's a macabre touch.
Pocketing the things he can and carrying the things he can't, he wanders alone down the hallways. There are no torture racks, no cages, no prisons that he sees.

Powers/Abilities:
Cas' power varies depending on season and budget and I'm planning on seriously nerfing his more world-breaking powers.
In being an angel, he can teleport, smite humans and demons alike, heal himself and others. He can send people backward and forward in time as well as sideways in alternate scenarios. He is strong, inherently. He is not versed in combat, but he is good with hand-to-hand and self defense. He has a high pain tolerance and can endure torture. He can also possess another vessel that accepts him. He can knock out a human just by touching their forehead. He can also steal another angel's grace if his is lost. He's also in tune to angel radio, a telepathic connection between angels.
Castiel also has knowledge of the wards that would normally be able to keep out or help someone hide from angels and/or demons. Give him a can of spray paint. He can also cut his own hand, draw an enochian sigil with his blood and slap it, sending any nearby angels flying in a burst of white light
✨In terms of nerfing, could Cas be able to teleport around Hell, possibly only to establishments known to him, or structures. Very few instances outside of the gate, but to Hella Shorty's perhaps, for example. I think any time he does use a canon power that takes grace: healing, smiting, it takes it out of him and he does need to recover. I think he himself will take longer to heal just by being in hell. He won't be able to alter time or perception. I will consult with any other muns regarding the three-finger knockout, fighting, etc. With more usage, he'd need to sleep, to eat and to recharge. He won't just be an Energizer angel.
It's also up to you the mods how nerfed you'd like him to be! I'm all for this to be a collaboration and to avoid the more game breaking powers.
